Why Fidelity Sector Funds |
Our observation of Fidelity sector funds over a fifteen year period revealed that many of the funds are amongst the top performing funds over the past one, five, ten and fifteen year periods. In addition, during the times the market is experiencing any type of decline, usually, one or more of the sector funds are in an upward trend. Fidelity is able to achieve these results through the use of its substantial research facility consisting of a cadre of highly trained and experienced research analysts and portfolio managers. The trading fees imposed by Fidelity are reasonable, $7.50 per trade provided that the investor has been in the fund for thirty calendar days are longer. Less than thirty days, the trading fee is .75% of the account balance. If the investor uses Fidelity online trading facilities and is in any sector fund for thirty days or longer, the trading fees are waived. In addition to the trading fees, there is a redemption fee of $7.50 which is assessed on each trade. Fidelity imposes a one time 3% fee (which was eliminated in September 2003) on all monies investesd in the Fidelity sector fund family. |
